Freudenberg Politex

The Management Board of the Freudenberg Politex Group is pleased to announce the foundation of the Company Freudenberg Politex Ltd. in Shanghai, China.

Already active in China through a representative office since 2006, with the creation of the operative Company Freudenberg Politex strengthens its position in Asia, which is an area of strategic interest for the Group.

The Management of the Group sees in the Asian market a twofold opportunity of growth: first, the sales of polyester reinforcement in the local market replacing “poor” materials traditionally used, and secondly, attractive opportunities for cooperation with local manufacturers.

Following the successful completion of the Russian project, Freudenberg Politex is pleased to add China to its operations, confirming its intent to consolidate the global leadership of polyester nonwovens through growth and business diversity.

Freudenberg Politex is pleased to announce that a Joint Venture agreement with the Italian Company Caris S.r.l. was signed in August 2007. The newly founded company is located in Northern Italy and is named Caris FP S.r.l.

Caris S.r.l., Arese (MI), is one of the most important Italian companies operative in the field of sorting and valorization of waste coming from differentiated collection. Thanks to a consolidated experience gained over the years, to relationships with local municipalities and to an advanced business model, Caris manages the collection of waste from several cities located in the provinces of Milano, Como and Varese.

With the Joint Venture, Caris and Freudenberg Politex intend to increase the activity of sorting post-consumer packagings, expanding it into other geographical areas through new investments and through further promotion of differentiated waste collection. This increase of collection is a necessary premise for waste valorization and represents not only one of the most urgent issues in matter of environmental protection, but also an opportunity for value creation.

This investment represents for Freudenberg Politex a strategic step to grant even in the future an adequate level of bottle procurement, in order to be able to feed the capacity of its own plants, especially in Italy.

After the inauguration of the new production site in the Region of Nizhniy Novgorod celebrated in September 2006, the Freudenberg Politex Group reinforces its presence in Russia exhibiting its products for the construction industry at the international exhibition MosBuild in Moscow. Freudenberg Politex experts will give visitors details about the reinforcements for bituminous roofing membranes and the building materials, which are produced and sold by the Group all over the world.
